Important Information

March 2026

We are pleased to inform you that a temporary camping area will once again be available for the summer of 2026. As a reminder, the Arolla campsite has been permanently closed since July 13, 2025, at its original location (Route de Tsallion 8, 1986 Arolla) due to the risk of natural hazards.

The campground will be open from June 19 to September 13, 2026 (opening and closing dates subject to change depending on weather conditions). It can accommodate around 15 motorhomes as well as tents. The site is located next to the Hotel Restaurant Aiguille de la Tza: https://maps.app.goo.gl/s5Yn3QoA7vFPuebi6
Rates:
• CHF 20 per night per vehicle
• CHF 15 per night for a tent
Tourist tax not included (CHF 1.10 per adult, CHF 0.55 per child).

Toilets are available on site. Showers are available at the hotel for 8 CHF per person.

We do not take reservations. Depending on the weather, we may be fully booked, so please contact us a few days before your arrival to check availability.

There are plans to build a new campsite in Arolla. Planning is currently underway. The new site has been identified and the next step is for the area to be approved by the Canton of Valais.

Closure of the temporary area

The temporary campground is now closed. We invite you to visit other campgrounds in the valley, either in Evolène or in Les Haudères at the Molignon campground, which is open year-round. We hope to be able to reopen a campground next summer. Updates will be posted on our social media accounts and our website.
The construction of a new campground in Arolla is currently under discussion. The necessary steps are being taken with the relevant authorities.
On September 16, the State Council announced in a press release its intention to support businesses that have become inaccessible due to natural hazards. This financial support is intended in particular for economic actors in the Lötschental and Haut Val de Bagnes, but it should also benefit our establishment. We are very pleased with this news. We were deeply distressed when we learned that no insurance or support mechanism would cover our case. This situation prompted us to set up an online fund to secure our future – we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the donors once again. This state aid is fully justified, and we congratulate the canton for implementing it.

Temporary campground

Goodnews! In collaboration with the municipality of Evolène and the Tourist Office, a temporary camping area is now open in Arolla, right next to the Aiguille de la Tza Hotel-Restaurant.

It is equipped with portable toilets and is intended for motorhomes and vans. For tents, the other campsites in the valley are there to welcome you (Camping Molignons in Les Haudères and Camping d'Evolène). A limited space is available for hikers with tents passing through Arolla.
The rate per night is CHF 20 per vehicle, plus tourist tax (CHF 1.10 per adult and CHF 0.55 per child). For small tents, the cost is CHF 15 per night (+ tourist tax).

Showers are available on request at the Hôtel Aiguille de la Tza for CHF 8.
We are delighted to be able to offer you this solution so that you can fully enjoy our beautiful village and its landscapes. This area will remain in place until further notice. We look forward to seeing you.

The campground is closing permanently.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we are closing the campground this Sunday, July 13. Following the severe weather in June 2024, a new analysis of natural hazards is underway, and the authorities have decreed that the site can no longer guarantee the safety of visitors. Your safety is our top priority, and we respect this decision. This news comes as a real shock, but nature is stronger than us today.

We are saddened to realize the consequences this will have for all those who were planning to stay with us this summer, and we are terribly sorry for your vacations and plans that have fallen through. We hope you will be able to find an alternative so that you can still enjoy the region this summer—there are some great hotels and campsites!

Welcoming you to this magical place is what makes our hearts sing. Acquiring this campsite and improving it day by day was our life's project, and we are devastated at the thought that our doors will never reopen in this very special place. But we are not giving up: we absolutely want to continue welcoming you here in Arolla, in this little hidden paradise, which deserves to keep a campground at all costs. We are currently in discussions for an alternative site in order to continue this summer season. We will publish news when we have it.

Until then, we hope you will cherish wonderful memories of this enchanting place and we sincerely hope that we will soon be able to create new ones together. As no financial compensation seems possible at this time (neither from our insurance company nor from the canton), we are appealing to your generosity to help us save our business and plan for the future site of the new Camping Arolla:https://gofund.me/2bdf1370

UPDATE: On September 16, 2025, the Valais State Council announced its intention to support businesses that have become inaccessible due to natural hazards. One million has been released to support some twenty businesses affected in the Lötschental and Haut Val de Bagnes. Our campsite should also be able to benefit from this aid, which is inspired by what was undertaken during the COVID-19 period. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts and see you soon.
